Key information about eligibility, fees and managing your finance.

Eligibility and approval

You may be eligible to apply for StepEx finance if you:

  • are applying for an eligible course delivered by School of Communication Arts; and
  • meet StepEx's affordability and eligibility criteria.

Approval is not guaranteed. StepEx assesses all applications, and where demand exceeds available funding, not all applicants will be approved.

Costs and fees

All costs are shown clearly before you decide. Costs and repayment structures vary by offer, and the specific figures that apply are shown within each offer card. Depending on the course and finance option, these may include:

  • a non-refundable £20 information validation fee applies for each applicant who is not an existing borrower;
  • your upfront course-fee contribution (advance payment) of £250 — your own contribution towards the course fees, not borrowed and not part of the amount financed (paid to your training provider, separate from your StepEx finance);
  • a platform or administration fee of £1 per month;
  • interest or other charges for credit detailed in your credit agreement.

The total amount payable, any other charges and repayment schedule will be shown before you enter into any agreement.
