Pay for your Fortray course over time
This page is an illustrative example of how StepEx finance could be presented for Fortray students. Finance is not currently available for these courses.
Finance, where offered, would be provided by StepEx Lender Ltd. Courses are delivered by Fortray.
How StepEx would work for Fortray students (illustrative)
Your course application to Fortray and your StepEx finance application would be separate.
1. Get accepted onto your course
Have received acceptance onto your course from Fortray.
2. Apply separately for finance to StepEx
StepEx would complete eligibility and affordability checks before making a lending decision.
3. Review your finance offer
Review the payments, agreement term, charges and total amount payable shown for the finance offer available for your selected course.
4. Course fees are paid directly
If approved, the finance would be applied towards eligible course fees and paid directly to Fortray under the applicable arrangement.

Eligibility and approval
To apply for StepEx finance you would need to:
- be applying for an eligible course delivered by Fortray; and
- meet StepEx's affordability and eligibility criteria.
Approval would not be guaranteed. Where demand exceeds available funding, not all applicants would be approved.
Costs and fees (illustrative)
If offered, costs could include:
- a non-refundable £20 information validation fee applies for each applicant who is not an existing borrower;
- a course-dependent upfront course-fee contribution (advance payment) — your own contribution towards the course fees, not borrowed and not part of the amount financed (paid to your training provider);
- a platform or administration fee of £1 per month; and
- interest or other charges for credit detailed in the credit agreement.
All costs would be shown clearly before you entered into any agreement.
Managing your finance
Any credit agreement would be with StepEx Lender Ltd.
Repayments, balances, documents and account management would be handled through the StepEx online portal.
Support would be available through the StepEx portal, chat and email.
